Gotta be kidding me....
This is the first thing I ever bought a game like this. It was at Fry's yesterday, and I saw the Guild Wars Trilogy for $50, and if you combine the other prices, I thought it was a pretty good deal. I got it because I read the box and it said no subscription at all, and I read the entire box before I bought it. Then, I went to the Guild Wars website, and they said that they have the Trilogy Trial, so far only available at Fry's Electronics. Please don't tell me I got a trail version for $50... .
http://www.guildwars.com/products/ex...al/default.php I read the entire box, it says nothing like this! It doesn't say it's a trail, it only says "No Subscription fees - buy the game and play online with no monthly fees.*" and on the bottom.... "*Requires product purchase and access to internet. Player is responsible for all applicable Internet fees." I assume the part I underlined means that you need to buy it from the store because I think the other games says exactly the same thing. Can anyone find out if I bought the Trial version? I can't return it... . Only 10 hours of game play for $50?! T_T Edit: http://shop3.frys.com/product/573321...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG This doesn't say it at all either..... I really want to believe that I don't have a trail, but if the Official Guild Wars website says there's no full version of Trilogy...... Isn't there a rule about how much time you get? The WoW even says that the game only comes with 1 month of gameplay... Last edited by Thomas901; Nov 30, 2008 at 04:38 AM // 04:38.. the $50 GW Trilogy is the full game, the demo disk Trilogy is only 10 hours
If you were sold the demo disk for $50 you should go back to Fry's and have them correct the mistake. |

Does the copy you got say anything about it being a trail? If it doesn't then I would believe that it is the full version and you have nothing to worry about.

Looks like the full game
The guild wars official site is always way behind real time. |

Thanks
Wow.... Response is so quick . Thanks you guys. The reason that I'm freaked out about this is because I also got a copy for my friend.... I think I will love this site and Guild Wars.

You will love this site for say 4 days. Then you will be sick of the trolls, idiots, rude people, and flamers. I try to stay in Q&A, Druid's, Community News, Contests and Events, Lyssa's Fiction, and Nolani's. Those are the best places in this forum. But my interest in discussion draws me to Sardelac and Riverside x.x

Thomas, welcome you and your friend to the world of Guild Wars. Be patient with the game as there is ALOT more to it than meets the eye. I mean that in most positive way. Enjoy the adventure and we look forward to hearing your fantastic tales. |

u most definetly got the full game becuase the trials cost about 10 bucks when i've seen them at gamestop. If u did get the trial, then u should go back to FRY's and get the game u deserve and payed for.

If it does say "trial" on it, you should take it back to Fry's - they probably have some policy about returning software, but that shouldn't apply if they sold you the wrong one. PS - in spite of what some may say, there are actually fewer trolls and flamers on here than some forums I know of. Idiots, rude people, and illiterates can be found everywhere - real life or forums, so "Welcome to life!" |

Like Quaker said, it would say "Trial" somewhere, so you most likely got the full product. Also, "purchase of product" means that you have to input an access code, you can't just get away with having some free account or something and play for free.
Also, I would also say that this is a "tame" forum compared to what I've encountered in the past. If you want something bad, go for NG forums (don't ask me what the abbreviation means...) or something like that, but people here seem to know what they are talking about. |

The trilogy trial comes in a flat paper/cardboard cd jacket, iirc. The GW trilogy however comes in a real box, with other stuff inside in addition to the disks and access codes. Worry if you got the former rather then the latter.
As for the forums, it is what it is. Just come on with some thick skin. |

Does the trilogy come with a trial key inside and you maybe just added the wrong key? I have no idea if it does, but I'm just raising it as an alternative possibility... I know there were some game versions that did come with a free game trial a while back.

All three of my campaigns had a trial key in them as well as the full Game key. If it came in a real box as mentioned previously make sure about the key.

You get the trial key in case a friend wants to try the game. That way, you aren't handing out your login info.
